Program Information

VLA - Volume Licensing Agreement

Customers wishing to start a VLA simply make a purchase of license, Upgrade Protection, or other services from the VLA Product Availability and Price List. Novell will then assign a VLA number to that customer to allow them to make future purchases. It is a two year term.

MLA - Master Licensing Agreement

The MLA contract is signed for a two-year, renewable at the end of each term for another two years. This contract is called "Evergreen", meaning that it renews automatically at the end of each two-year period. Key benefits of the MLA program include account management, cumulative volume discounts, price protection, comprehensive product maintenance, nodal pricing, and optional site licensing.

ALA - Academic License Agreement

Generally, schools, supervisory organizations of qualified schools, libraries, non-profit museums, and hositals wholly owned by an accredited academic institution qualify for ALAs. ALAs have an initial term of three years, and a minimum of three products is required. There are a specific set of products and bundles available for the agreement.

SLA - School License Agreement

SLA has the same privledges as ALA with the primary difference being that SLA is designed for primary and secondary (K-12) schools, while ALA is for higher education institutions.
