Congratulations to Clarence Medrano, for receiving a 2017 Jone Panavas Leadership Award!
Clarence is a Purchasing Representative in Toronto. Clarence has a reputation for providing a great customer experience and handling challenges with ease. He is a solid contributor to the Purchasing team from a metric and performance perspective, but has been most impactful as a mentor during a recent pilot program designed to enhance the customer experience.
During this pilot project, he willingly stepped-up to train and mentor new Order Manager (OM) reps. He embraced a short-notice opportunity to fly to Seattle and act as an in-house expert and guide for the local team’s OM associates. He coached three people through a major role adjustment as part of the program, and continues to do so on a daily basis from Toronto. While still in Seattle, Clarence was called upon late one night to resolve an issue for a customer. Despite the late hour and the fact that the task at hand was outside his regular responsibilities, Clarence pulled up his sleeves and made sure the order was immediately put through, ultimately saving the customer from a hefty fine.
He is a shining example of how an individual contributor can step up on behalf of the customer and lead by example. That is why he was chosen among the 2017 Jone Panavas Leadership Award winners.
