This WOW goes to Dan Martinovich, a Systems Engineer Consultant, and Trevor Lysyk, a Sr. Systems Engineer, who both operate out of our Calgary office.
This year, a group of Softchoice employees based in Toronto decided to support Indspire – a Canadian charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people – through Softchoice Cares’ Power to the People program. They got involved with a project to help supply IT services and equipment to the Kawacatoose First Nation School, in Raymore, Saskatchewan.
When the group asked the Softchoice Professional Services team for help to perform a technology site survey, Dan and Trevor were the first ones to volunteer, despite being hundreds of kilometers away from the school. Using the two annual volunteer days Softchoice provides, they flew out from Calgary to Regina and drove two hours to the small town of Raymore. They spent two days on site, checking the IT infrastructure and listing all needed improvements and upgrades from equipment and devices to networking.
Thanks to their detailed report, the project team will be able to provide a tailored solution to the school and will be using the money it raised through Softchoice Cares to donate some much-needed equipment that will greatly improve the students’ learning experience.
Thank you, Dan and Trevor, for taking our Softchoice value of “We Take Care of Each Other” to the next level and for taking time out of your busy schedules and personal lives to support a community in need.
