Dell Rugged gets the ultimate upgrade – 6th generation Intel

Dell Rugged Goes Beyond Expectation. Again.

Dell made a huge impact on the rugged market in 2014 with the introduction of the Latitude Rugged and Rugged Extreme to the market. Boasting to be the answer to the needs of the world’s toughest jobs and harshest conditions, they made a promise to the market to Go Beyond Rugged. And they delivered.

How do you make the Latitude 14 Rugged and Rugged Extreme notebooks and the Latitude 12 Rugged Extreme even better?

Add the ultimate upgrade for PC performance – the 6th generation Intel® Core™ processor. Simply put, there is less waiting and more doing with 6th generation Intel® Core™ processors, giving you up to 2.5x better performance and productivity. You can power up in an instant and switch in and out of apps seamlessly. And, the 6th Gen Intel Core processors have been optimized to best run Windows 10, standard on all devices, enabling new experiences, removing computing pain points and delivering a secure computing experience. You can architect your own device, choosing between Core i3, Core i5, Core i7.

The Latitude Rugged and Rugged Extreme can be taken into the harshest conditions and literally come out unscathed. They are built with impact-resistant ultra polymers and sturdy magnesium allow. The new release of the second generation now have up to 32GB of memory and up to 1TB solid state storage, not to mention 2 native serial ports with sealed doors and compression gaskets. Armed with best in class GPS, a full-HD webcam with privacy shutter, a sealed, customizable “RGB” backlit keyboard and “instant stealth” mode to go incognito, these machines continue to meet the needs of all rugged environments – only better. The familiar direct-view outdoor-readable display and resistive multi-touch screen, even when wearing thick gloves, is now available across all devices. You can also stay powered longer in the field with the new hot swap bridge battery option.
