While Microsoft or Softchoice have not received any information to indicate that these vulnerabilities have been used to attack Azure customers, many of our clients are wondering if there is anything they need to do.
Short Answer: Microsoft has already updated and rebooted servers within their data centers to apply a fix and no further action on the part of Azure clients is required.
The security vulnerability affects the vast majority of CPUs being used today, including CPUs found in Microsoft data centers running Azure.

The good news is Microsoft has deployed updates to their hardware and rebooted the necessary VMs by Thursday, January 4th. If you are an Azure customer, you may have been notified directly by Microsoft that a reboot was going to take place. The Azure customers we have spoken with were not aware of the server/VM reboot, nor saw any degradation in service.
